Top 10 January Transfers That Haven’t Paid Off
In this January Transfer window, we didn’t witness any record breaking big money deal like Fernando Torres’s £50m move to Chelsea in 2011. However, what did happen were supposedly key signings for many clubs who were supposed to give them that special X-factor to help them reach their goals for the season. And while many players like Mohammed Salah and Andre Schurrle have flourished at their new clubs, these boys just haven’t done enough. Whether it’s failing to find their recent form or even a spot in the starting XI, the money or risk the clubs put in for these players have not yet paid off in the way that both parties had hoped.

GK) Claudio Bravo- Manchester City
The Chile shotstopper ended his three-year stay at Barcelona this summer to join Pep Guardiola’s army at Manchester City. He replaced the club legend Joe Hart as the Guardiola began putting his stamp on the team. Good with the ball at his feet, agile and confident, Bravo has all the attributes for a fine goalkeeper. Still 33, Bravo has the time to become one of the very best under the Spaniard’s guidance. His debut was not up to the expected standards, however, he has since given some fine displays for the blues.

10) Miroslav Klose to Lazio
Considered as one of the finest strikers of all time, Klose joined Lazio from German Champions Bayern Munich in 2011. After falling out with Louis Van Gaal, Klose was one of the two strikers shipped out by the Dutchman during his time in Bavaria. However, the move did not halt Klose’ progress as he continued his prowess in front of goal scoring 48 goals for the Italian side. At 36, Klose broke the world record for most goals scored by a player at the World Cup scoring the second goal on that torrid night for Brazilian football.
