Stories behind the origin of the biggest football clubs in Europe
10. Liverpool :
Before 1892, Everton used to play at Anfield for eight consecutive seasons. It was because of some disputes with the owner of the ground John Houlding that Everton decided to relocate to Goodison Park. In the same year, Houlding founded another club to play at Anfield naming it Everton Athletic. But the name got rejected by the FA and it was named as Liverpool.
