Footballers Who Achieved Greater Success Than Their Fathers

5. Geoff Hurst and Charlie Hurst Geoff

Geoff Hurst is in everyone’s memories as one of the best and most acknowledged English footballers to ever play. In his 17 year’s career, (known to be a West Ham legend) a scored 300 goals throughout, but he is recalled for his hattrick in 1966 FIFA World Cup which helped them to lift the World Cup back then.

He retired from football and later on went off to become a manager, who even took charge of Chelsea, and he is one among those very few footballers who was given knighthood.

His father was also a professional footballer who was a center back during his time, but he could never make it to the top level due to the Second World War. He made appearances for Bristol Rovers, and Oldham Athletic, also known to a player-manager at Sudbury town and is also known to have led his team to Suffolk Senior Cup
