Although Walcott took one back for Arsenal, Rooney hammered another free-kick in 68th minute, followed by Nani and Park both putting their name on the score sheet, before Van Persie pulled another back to make it 6-2.

Carl Jenkinson was shown a red card, which made the hard, even harder. Rooney completed his hat-trick from a spot kick and the goal flood was put to an end in stoppage time when Young scored another sublime curler in yet another 25-yard ambitious try.
