Arsene Wenger had a good transfer market this summer, bringing in quality players at much needed places. The squad fumbled after January last season, partly due to the loss of form of players like Mertesacker. Wenger responded by bringing in the magnificent Mustafi from Valencia for a record 35 million Euros. The German, 26, is a world cup winner and is superb in the air. Mustafi will hope to form a good understanding with Koscielny at the heart of the Gunners’ defence.

CB) John Stones- Manchester City

John Stones is tipped to be the next John Terry in the English football. The Englishman, after three impressive seasons at Everton and nearly joining Chelsea (in 2014), joined Manchester City for a record 47.5 million Euros. The fees made him the most expensive British defender ever. Though 22, Stones has played more than 70 games in the Premier League. With club captain Kompany’s struggles with injury, Stones’ signing was a much-needed one.
