Pirlo at Inter
Despite impressive seasons while loaned out, Pirlo just couldn’t get into the first team at Inter. It may have been a disappointment but through a series of fortunate events, it gave us the player we all love today. Considered a successful loan, when returning from Reggina, Pirlo should’ve been able to get some attention at Inter. After playing just four games, the second half of that season saw the young Pirlo loaned out again, this time to Brescia, where Pirlo got to play with his idol, Roberto Baggio. But there was a slight problem, both were attacking midfielders. Carlo Mazzone, the Brescia manager at the time, made the decision to play Pirlo in a deeper-lying role, which worked well due to Pirlo’s long passing ability. He then moved to AC Milan and the rest is history.
