5) Spanish Jamie Vardy
Arsenal’s hopes of signing a world-class striker were squashed in July when last season’s star performer Jamie Vardy rejected a move to the Emirates in favour of staying at Leicester. Vardy came close to signing for the Gunners but instead signed a new contract with the Foxes. It looked like it was going to be yet another frustrating summer for Arsenal but after the win against Watford; Arsene Wenger confirmed the signing of Lucas Perez. Perez just as Vardy has been productive wherever he has played. He scored 18 goals last season for Deportivo La Coruna and was full of running in those games. His work-rate too is as high as Vardy’s. It would be safe to say that the Gunners have signed the Spanish Jamie Vardy.
