5 Players Who Will Retire After The 2018 FIFA World Cup

Pepe

Pepe is not everybody’s cup of tea. The Portuguese centre back is known for his antics and inclination towards gouging out opposition players. The 35-year old centre back is a villain to many, but for the teams he has played for, he is adored by the fans for his undeniable work rate, defensive qualities, and leadership ability. Portugal’s poster boy Ronaldo may have led them to the Euro 2016 triumph, but none can deny the role of Pepe. He has calmed over the years and plays with a still head rather than lunging in on players.

This may well be Pepe’s last call with the Portuguese team and he will love to better their Euro triumph with Portugal’s first ever World Cup honour. He is closing in on 100 International matches, but that may not be the case with 9 matches to go.
