The 5ft 11in striker was prolific in his career for both club and country. He spent majority of his career at Westfalenstadion playing more than 200 games for the Black and Yellow. However, despite his fan following in Dortmund, he was never a consistent player. During the ’97 campaign for Dortmund, Chapuisat scored three goals in the champions league all coming against Steaua Bucharest. The Swiss international started the Champions League final in ’97 for Borussia Dortmund against Juventus. The 20-year old Lars Ricken came on to replace him in the 70th minute scoring the winning goal. Chapusiat hung his boots in ’06.
