FC Porto have endured a fairy-tale season of sorts, are currently second in the league and nearly ousted Bayern Munich from the Champions League only to crumble in Munich. However, their defence has been sturdy, in fact, one of the meanest in Europe. Hard to believe, but they have conceded just 12 league goals in 32 games, the least in Portugal.

The cynosure for this defensive extravaganza are Bruno Martins Indi and Maicon Pereira, whose partnership in the Porto armament have been simply crackling.

The centre-backs are lauded for their vision and intelligence in the game and together, form an formidable partnership that has led Porto to dizzying heights this season.

5 Reasons Why Antoine Griezmann Is Loved By All

  1. He is one of the best footballers in the world

He and Luis Suarez are two ludicrously gifted footballers who have figured out how to be appropriate in the blend for the verbal confrontation about the best footballer of 2016. There is a case to be made that if the aftereffects of the two finals the couple included in (Champions League and Euro) had been distinctive, Griezmann may have been delegated the best to the detriment of Ronaldo. From being a shadow side to their famous city rivals Real Madrid, Atletico have come a long way to achieving glory under current manager Diego Simeone. With recent wins against Real Madrid and also staying ahead in the title race on the points table, Atletico have covered some serious distance considering their lack of spending prowess compared to Real Madrid and Barcelona. However one thing that Atletico have maintained over the years is their rich history of churning up the best and greatest strikers in the world. The likes of Sergio Aguero, Diego Forlan, Fernando Torres, Radamel Falcao, Diego Costa, David Villa and the most recent Antoine Griezmann. Every time a star player left, they somehow managed to create another brilliant one. Their goalkeepers have also been the best in the business; notable mentions would be Thibaut Courtois and David De Gea.
